In the court room JT and Digger are convicted of murder. It really surprised me that they both admitted to drilling the holes without a fight. I couldn't believe that, Digger especially, gave up. I felt that the public defender talking about Digger's home life was important because it showed how Digger has been suffering his whole life and how he has been left to fend for himself. If I were in Brady's situation I would feel heartbroken because my friends and I were involved in an accidental murder. Even though I knew it wasn't my fault I would still feel guilty. I would also be worried that my friends wouldn't like me anymore and this would make me very sad.
These quotes said by Brady and Ben can relate to my life because I see a lot of people around me who I consider "mean". Ben believes that no one is "bad", they are just making mean choices. I agree with this because people can always change their personality. Someone who has made mean and harsh decisions may one day change and then they aren't "bad" anymore. This shows how young kids may not have much insight, but they can see things that older and wiser people wouldn't.
